Thank you for your interest in LumiKids! This Privacy Policy describes how we (Lumos Labs, Inc.) use, secure, and share information in the LumiKids mobile application (the “App” or “LumiKids”). This policy is incorporated into the LumiKids Terms of Service.

1. Types of Data Received

LumiKids is intended for 2-5 year old users, but we require that their parents or guardians create an account for each user.

Our Privacy Policy and our information practices adhere to the United States Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). LumiKids also has been certified as COPPA compliant by the kidSAFE Seal Program. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children less than 13 years of age without parental consent and we will never sell the personal information we collect to third parties. We also do not condition a child’s participation in or access to the App on the child providing more information than is reasonably necessary for the App.

Data received from you. In LumiKids, you, the parent or guardian, are the account holder. This is because the account creation process is intended exclusively for grown-ups. When you sign up for LumiKids, you are required to submit certain information about yourself and your child (“Account Information”). You must submit your name, age (for verification), your email address and your child’s nickname, gender, and month and year of birth. We may ask for other information at registration in the future – however, we will not request information that would allow us to individually identify your child.

Data received from children. Once you have logged in, the App receives data about your child’s actions within the App, such as the activities that he or she completes, and the levels achieved (“Activity Data”). There are no social features or chat that would allow your child to communicate with other users.

2. Other Data Automatically Collected

When you download the App, we automatically collect information about your device, including its Apple identifier for advertisers and IP address. We use the Apple identifier for advertisers only for purposes of marketing LumiKids to you. We use your IP address to support our operations, including, for example, logging errors and analyzing traffic.

3. Use and Disclosure

We use your personal information to authenticate you, to send you information about your child’s activities in the App and other information about us, and to otherwise support the internal operation of the App. You can opt out of receiving most emails, but we reserve the right to email you to update you on the terms of service or privacy, or about other transactional matters. We use anonymous Activity Data to personalize and improve the LumiKids experience.

We do not share or sell your personal information (like your email address) to third parties for their marketing purposes.

We work with service providers to support our internal operations. If you create an account, your personal information may be shared with them. While this is not an exclusive list, we use third party service providers to host our servers, to analyze software errors, to manage our email communications and to track customer support requests. These third parties have access to your information for purposes of performing these tasks on our behalf and they are contractually required to protect your information consistent with this Privacy Policy.

We advertise LumiKids using various third party tools. If you clicked on an ad or link to download the App, we may automatically send limited information back to the publisher of the ad or link (not including your email address) to track, manage and otherwise facilitate our efforts to advertise LumiKids.

There are a few other situations in which we may use or share your information:

  • when we have a good faith belief we are required to do so by law, or in response to a subpoena, court order, or other legal mechanism.
  • when we have a good faith belief that disclosure may prevent fraud and abuse of us, our users or protect our property rights.
  • with our corporate affiliates, like our subsidiaries.
  • in the event of an acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other similar event.

Finally, we reserve the right to use and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. For example, we constantly aim to improve the activities and experience by analyzing anonymous or aggregated Activity Data.

4. Accessing and Deleting Your Information

You may access Profile Information through the App (including your child’s information), and most fields can be edited through the App. If you have questions about accessing your information, or you would like to delete your account, please contact our customer support team at If you delete your account, you will not be able to log in without creating a new account. If you wish to review your child’s Activity Data, or request that we delete such information, please contact our customer support team using the link above. You may also request that we deactivate your account and thereby stop the further collection or use of any information from you or your child.

While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your requests, if allowed by applicable laws, we reserve the right to impose certain requirements on such requests, such as limiting our production of information to certain formats and not deleting information that is no longer identifiable.

5. Security

We have implemented and maintain reasonable security practices to protect against the unauthorized access, modification or disclosure of your personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. California “Do Not Track” Notice

We do not track our customers’ personal information over time and across third-party websites to provide targeted advertising and therefore do not respond to “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals.

7. Change Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated in the future. If we make material changes, we will provide advance notice to you either by email, by posting a notification on LumiKids or by posting an updated policy in the App 30 days in advance of its effective date. If any material changes affect the way we handle personal information collected from children (if applicable), we will first notify and obtain prior verifiable parental consent from a parent or legal guardian.
